Think my pc is fucked again...

Post by o'dium »

Was playing Oblivion, and it crashed... Took me forever to get the PC back on, and then i tried again, crashed in the same place...

Now whats happening is when i try turn on my PC, i get as far as the windows XP logo, then when my login screen should come up, it goes black and my monitor turns off. Safe mode works fine, and sometimes when i restart my PC, i get all sorts of graphics corruption on my screen. I could JUST make out for some reason a windows error on the screen when it was loading with this corruption, and it said "V4.isp", and the only info i can find on this file is that its some odd ISP?

Anyways, I'm hoping its not my GPU that died on me. Sounds like it, that may be why its crashing in oblivion, because it cant handle the data. If thats the case then goodbye new TV, ill have to cancel the order and order a new graphics card... DAMN...

Removed my GPU drivers and lo and behold... My PC boots up in XP fine. I'm not installing the new drivers again. Ill go back to the ones i was on before. The only reason i had the new ones is because it fixed a few issues in Oblivion... Anyways, it all seems fine at the moment, so i'm not so sure whats going on anymore... Maybe it was a shitty bad install...

Nope... While installing the drivers, my PC was fine, then as my monitor turned off and on to show the new display (with new drivers) I just get corruption on the entire screen.

Any ideas?

EDIT: lol
