who needs real fast internet?

Post by horton »

well...i think im gonna go to another internet company..
mainly for financial reasons. i pay too much, and i wanna spend my money elsewhere.

the company im thinking of going to has a few packages available.

12down. 24 down. 50down. all are 3 up, i think?

I dont really game much now, all i do is download music, IM people, and look at porn.

am I ever gonna notice the difference between 12,24 and 50?
the price difference is not so much, I get the feeling 50 would be purely an E-penis thing....

go ask bob...
a defining attribute of a government is that it has a monopoly on the legitimate exercise of violence...

I went from 4 to 9 recently, only difference was i seem to have SLIGHTLY better pings in game and sites are minimally faster..

Passed 10 megs? Unless its some super fat pipe and you have unlimited bandwidth to jack from it, you wont notice any difference
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

I'm here at 3M/768K at home. At work, however, we've got some ungodly fast connection...something T3 or faster, and it's a beautiful thing.

50Mbit is just future-proofing. anything over 4Mbit at present won't make much difference. i've downloaded stuff on oxford university machines where i very occasionally got up to 48Mbit but mostly it was a steady 4Mbit

it's the upload speeds that fucking suck for everyone at the moment. I've stopped caring about download speeds, more impressed with upload figures if anyone has one close to their download rate :)
