Highend Movie Theaters

Tonight I took the wife out to see a flick.

Recently here, a Nascar Speedway was located and it has brought some buisness to the area. With an influx of new eatery establishments with the typical fair is, quite large and booming.

While it suppots the common such as Taco Bell, McDonalds and Wendys, It has atractted some higher end values as well. Mid class like Outback Steak House (always worth a trip) to Longhorns (new in the area but still tasty but thats a whole diffrent review) to higher end resturants with Bobby Flay and the likes backing them.

In the heart of this area is a Legends 14 Movie Theater. Only a handfull have high balconys. This is something that was missed from long ago indoor theaters from vaudvile type of style.

Nothing new I know, but you have to pay to get there, plus the ticket price added to it. Okay thats fine. We know where going get served at the press of a button and be served our drink of choice. And even though thay had a substantal bar to mix from, with decent Belguin ale It was there where I was turned off.

The menue consited of three over priced appitizers. The main dish was a Hot Dog.

WTF?

Tickets for Movie $6:50 (x2)
Reasonable price since it was Sunday about 4:20 pm

Balcony where not everyone can go: $19:00 (x2)
This should have included our first drink as complimentery, but was not.
Yea sure thay had a decent Belguim beer, (Stella Artois ) Some decent wines, thats not the point.

Drinks $7:50 (x4)
Full bar. And in a dry county on a sunday. Impressed there. Thay had to have paid off some sort of Liquor law.

Appetizer $7:50 (x1) We decided on one of three. A shrimp and crab dip served with chips and pita bread. Could have had all chipss or pita. The other 2 dips were with atichokes or something else. Bland, moist and just enough salt to keep ya drinking. (Just an observation)

The Main dish was....

Hotdog: $4:50 Served with all the fixings . Relish, onions, musterd, ketchup, and a bun.
JoY, thay served it on a bun and not in some paper container. (not orderd) Like I was going to pay for that. No hotdogs worth Four fuckin bucks.

To pay all that, was fuckin redicufuckinlus. I mean, yea, I got drinks..but what a raket and at 40 bucks for two just to get up there, should have been a free drink its self.

Not worth the go.

if it makes you feel any better, you're paying half the price you would for the same thing in england - except that in england, it would be about 20 minutes after you pushed the service button before you saw anyone, and at least an hour before you saw them again after that. and instead of nice beer, you'd be fobbed off with some piss like stella (oh..).

Build a home theater - cheaper than going to the movies for the rest of your life, and a lot more enjoyable.

exactly. when was it that people decided the movie theater was a restaurant and/or a good place to cram themselves full of junkfood? i rarely bother going to theaters anymore, and at least part of the reason for that is i refuse to pay $16.00 for tickets just to not be able to hear the movie over the sound of the fat fucks surrounding me playing with their candy/nachos/popcorn.

eat at home, watch films at the cinema. fucking plebs.
