Cell phone question..

I'm a bit under the level on cell phones.. if I purchase an unlocked razer am I able to just pull my sim card out and put it in the razer?

I'm on T-mobile now and it says it works with T-mobile, but I'm on prepaid because I don't use the phone that much but want to upgrade my phone and get rid of the shitty pre-paid phone they gave me with my service.

Is that how it works? Thanks.

now what if it's a GSM phone and I'm my current phone is GPRS, t-mobile does support both GSM and GPRS though.
