Obscure fucking PS1 crap

Post by Guest »

Ok... I'm trying to figure out if something about the PS1 is true and how to do it and I figure maybe one of you might have seen this before.

If you have a PS1 and put in a CD you can load up a small program that changes to the sound and you can change what it does by pushing certain buttons on the controller. However, somehow, there is a way to make appear a small orb or circle of some sort in the corners of the display thing by pushing ether a certain combination or something. My question is as follows. Has anyone ever seen 1 or more circular orbs in the corners of the screen in the PS1 in the music graphic thing and how did you make them appear?

Nah I'm feeling nostalgic. My girlfriend keeps telling me she saw this once with friends and they all saw it too while tripping on shrooms and I'm trying to find out more info for her for my own personal reasons.

Thing is I remember the program she's talking about and how it did different things and stuff for music cd's but I don't remember any small circles or orbs in the bottom corners of the PS1 and it's intruiging for some reason only I would know. but it seems very obsucre and relatively unknown and why would anyone program that into the PS1 displays and why? The curiosity kills me.

Yeah that's what I'm wondering but it wouldn't be very common for 4 people to have the same hallucination.

It would be if it was completely random...but if you're tripping out and somebody points out something like dots or "circular orbs" (redundant), it's pretty easy to start seeing them because you believe they are there.

there is an 'orb'. it'll be red or green depending on whether it's playing or recording. i forget which one, but press one of the top flippers to start/stop recording. it'll record which visualisation you pick and your settings for that visualisation.

if you really do find the 'orb' itself entertaining - think you can just leave it recording indefinitely - or save a few bucks by drawing a red dot on your fridge door with magic marker and stare at that instead.

The original PS was a piece of crap anyway. This is all I ever use these days:

http://www.epsxe.com/

Suits me well for playing FF7-9, Castlevania: SOT, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, MGS and...uh...not much else on the console worth going back to I'm afraid. Use this for the graphics plugin: http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm

Yah. Not much more to say really. Just trying to make this thread into something worthwhile.

lol cool that's exactly what she was talking about. The red and green dots, that's fucking hilarious. I am curious about how the fuck you would record something on a PS1 though...

I'm not. I'm working a job that flew me to california and put me up in a hotel with free passes to a couple of the biggest gaming conventions in the year with all other expenses paid. You're the guy we call to book the hotel.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.
