Here's those 1/4 mile times

Post by andyman »

And I am very pleased with them.

Run 1: 13.420 @ 102.93

Run 2: 13.375 @ 103.28

Run 3: 13.224 @ 104.04 (fastest of the night (for me duh))

Run 4: 13.233 @ 104.01

The track was incredible tonight, since it was just refinshed for last weeks NMRA races. It was sticky and my tires never slipped once, no matter how hard i launched.

edit: my fastest r/t was .057 and the slowest was .483

13.2s with intake, exhaust and a high octane tune? Very impressive, very nice times!

The last two runs I was deep staging, that seemed to have a big effect :D

I can't wait until may 20th, that is when the car club has track day. I am gonna smoke some people ;D

good 'ol 5.0L Mustangs. If that's your daily driver, i wouldn't tune is past the 12 second mark. That's when things become unreliable.

Good job

It's a 4.6L, 05 gt but tuning it past 12 seconds won't hurt it at all if it is still a safe tune.

Who said anything about him being right or wrong? He just needs to stop trying to comment on anything to do with cars.

So how do you prefer to launch that car? Neutral drops, or rev with your foot on the brake?

I know what you drive. My point is, that it's easy for a stang to get those #'s. Consider they run what, somewhere around 14 stock?

edit: actually, i just looked it up, the 05 4.6L runs 13.5 stock.

That's what the manual runs on a good day with an ace driver.

I was doing the powerbrake launch at ~2K-2.5Krpm. The stock converter stalls at 2500 so I tried to keep it as close to that as possible. I need to get one with a higher stall, like around 3000 or 3200 rpm, that is where peak torque is.

Yeah, that's the manual's time, also, i've been reading some topics, and I guess the best times are reached with a 5300rpm launch

Optimum launch rpm for the automatic is going to be determined by the torque converter, as andypanda just mentioned.

Oh i forgot to mention... look at the third e.t.

it is 13.375, but the display at the the track only shows 4 numbers, so it said 13.37. I should not have to explain what this means. Actually a time of 13.37 was one of my goals :D im so happy
