They have dvd players that will upscale reg dvd's to 720, or 1080. Anyone tried these?

So far, I've not been a big fan of TV images on LCD, so this would be more up my alley: Give us a click

They should really say "720p Ready".

Still, nice purchase DB. I'll be interested to see what you say about the picture whilst watching normal telly on it.
1080i has less lines than 720p though :p 1080p however is a different story.

more fun is that most tvs have the HDReady logo on it while it doesnt even support 720p. it just has a HDMI input and that makes it "hd ready" :dork:

HD Ready Panels - The Ultimate Visual Experience

All of SAMSUNG’s LCD TVs above 23” are High Definition Ready. These new standards in TV have an improved resolution of up to 1366 x 768 meaning more visual information on the screen, resulting in the best image you the viewer have ever experienced

1366x768?
720p is 1280x720 (hence the 720 :) ), while 1080i is 1920x1080 albeit interlaced

so i guess its being upscaled a bit to fit the ratio :l
