Confusion sets in.. LA as in Louisiana the proper state abbreviation, or L.A. as in Los Angles, CA..

Hollywood is alot of fun. Sunset boulevard is full of clubs and nightlife. Don't go to Compton.

I just got back from LA, the only good spot was santa monica mall; the boulevards are okay for cafes etc, but lots of homeless ferrals - LA is pretty crappy by, well, by any standards other than say a russian detention centre

A friend of mine used to live in both LA and SF. His experience of LA was that it's pretty much a dump, and that SF was about a thousand times nicer to live in.
