Totally wrong. The standard jetta is 150hp, so adding 40hp to that is 190hp. 150+50=190. Use a calculator if you don't believe me. Maybe, MAYBE a downpipe added 10hp, if you're lucky. hence my "207hp"(the 7 might be gained from a performance fuel). But maybe you're talking about the 5-speed tiptronic, because I think that comes with 180 to compensate for the extra weight. But, my math is nothing if not fantastic, and 180+40=220, so the lighter pulleys and downpipe might help it develop an extra 10 or so hp, but that'll be offset by the extra weight from the tiptronic system.
I don't know what you're trying to prove to me. It seems like you're saying my car isn't fast, yet a car that's never even close to the power of mine can only be described as "holy fuck"
Let's take my stock s3. 225hp with 4 wheel drive and an amazing chassis and have it ECU remapped by Revo. Let's also add a fully adjustable Koni Coilover Kit with poly bushes, and a carbon fibre front strut. then put some samco hoses in with a forge dv to increase throttle responce and stop intake collapse. Obviously I'd need better brakes, so the rear I leave stock, and up front I put a nice big pair of Brembo GT's. A milltek catback exhaust system is next, adding a small amount of HP, added with some 98ron fuel, we're currently touching 300hp. Next lets add some nice OZ lightweight alloys, and throw the spare out of the boot to reduce a bit of weight.
the next thing I do is close all of my fingers and then slowly extend my middle at which point I laugh at you for being such a twat
but well done your friend. He managed to beat a VW jetta in his VW jetta. I heard they use them as pace cars in f1 racing these days
his is a 2003, 180hp engine stock. Its 5 speed manual btw. I don't get it. You've chipped your 225hp 1.8T and you're hitting 300hp now? With the stock turbo and intercooler? Did you dyno your car at least
Yes it will easily do it.
Most normal turbo's only run @ 6 or 7 psi and can handle closer to 15 - 17 psi (1 bar)
So say for safe messure he let it run @ 13psi constant, thats a VERY
big increase in pressure.
easy get 330bhp out of a stick turbo but its running dangerously
you know very lil about vag cars I am sorry.
The awp motor run stock 11 psi.
Most chipped 1.8T can run anywhere from 15-25psi. Although 18-20psi is the norm.
here you go 300hp with just a chip from a 1.8T.
Gee, something tells me that's not your friend's car.
So, what gas is he running in it? I assume he's got titanium headbolts? Thicker head gasket maybe? What's his compression ratio? What's he using to control the detonation?
Are you joking? titanium headbolts wow man. Your ignorance shins through.
compression ratio is 9.5, like all stock 1.8T, mind you the aww and awd I believe have slightly lower compression 9.3 I believe.
There is no detonation, it's on 94 octane. What you get at the pumps. And we have knocking sensors on 1.8T so it can back down the timing if it senses knocking.

A top speed of 243 km/h and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds put the S3 ahead of rival cars, even many with much larger engines.
Not a slow standard car by ANY strech of the imagination.
And i know a fair bit about cars and the 1.8T will hold more than most i agree.
Its a part of the VAG group and they are built to higher standards than most and prehaps my "NO WAY" attitued is a little off.
But what i mean by it is that running that sort of PSI constantly will kill it in no time. The 1.8T engines could in theory do 30psi but would fuck its self over in about 1000 miles no doubt
Where were you when the West was defeated?

Well some of you guys are missing the point that because the stock turbo is soo small it's spiking 24psi at 3000rpm, and it tapers to 10-12psi at redline. Yes audi cars are much nicer, but some are pigs, look at the b5 s4 2.7TT. Very much a pig.

No detonation on 94 octane gas? Right. And yes, I'd want titanium headbolts if I was going to run that car at 25psi.

your ignorance is amazing, change headbolts on 280whp... Funny.
these motor take 300-350whp on stock internals.
The s4 motors can make 500hp on bone stick internals.
Stop throwing around crap information and misleading others.
ToxicBug wrote:Actually it probably has 230bhp since the chip adds 40 and it has a bigger downpipe and lighter pulleys. He demolished another 1.8T chipped jetta yesterday by bus lengths and he destroyed a G35c, so its quick. It ran 14.5@102mph in 0 degree weather with stock suspension and stock exhaust, so now it should be close to 14 flat. What did yours run on the 1/4 mile?

Another guy spreading around mis information, I just showed what a tt225 block can do. 300hp, with just a chip.
Nightshade wrote:Right, I know nothing because I'd use titanium head bolts and you wouldn't.
the only thing the head bolts would be good for is sticking it up your @ss hole, along with your fingers, cause all you are doing is spitting out garbage information about cars.
Nightshade wrote:Again, go fuck yourself.
By all means, don't build the motor with any sort of reliability in mind.
Again with 280whp-300whp reliability is not an issue at all with these motors. But if you say so.
So you're saying that you don't think it's necessary to strengthen the engine even slightly when running it at 25psi of boost and expect it to last for any reasonable amount of time?
