Do pc monitors support HD games?

I was thinking to myself, 'Hey my monitor supports up to 2040 resolution and I would prefer to play console on it anyway, I wonder if hd consoles work on monitors?'

Well...do they? If I were to get an xbox 360 and plug it into my monitor would it support the difference betwen regular and hd tv?

no, computers can only display up to 640x480 and you can only use hi-resolutions on the xbox 360 and ps3.

I've found out through another forum that yes, pc monitors do support the xbox 360 hd.

Yes. High Definition just means Better Resolution, so monitors have been doing HD for years now.

720p (x360s HD output) merely equals 1280x720 progressive scan in PC speak.

You'll have to purchase VGA cables seperately, but have a blast.

cheapalert was wrong. you can get a vga cable for the 360 to connect it to a monitor and still keep your HD signal

lol, that sthe wort of thing sony would say. Like Normal maps are something the PS3 can do just because of the cell CPU (Dont flame me, watchthe MGS4 videos).

As for monitors, yeah, they are HD gaming as long as they support the resolutions, which most do. I'm planning on getting a HD cable for my 360 just so i can play HD on my monitor. SLIGHTLY cheaper.

No, its a VGA cable, you monitor plugs directly into the cable. It also lets you hook it up for surround too.

Oh right I think i found it on ebay. Is there a way I can have both the xbox and 360 plugged into the same monitor so I can just switch them over without unplugging anything?

I dont know if you can get a VGA cable for the original (Probably can) but because they are different connections i'm gonna say no. Yo uwill need to switch them over.
