the M3 has 360 odd bhp and a large amount of torque. They hit 60 in a shade over 5 seconds. My mate had one, the top csi model and it was fucking scary quick!
No way could a little Jap thingy take one of those
I did some research and according to dyno runs from M3 owners they only have about 280 rwhp stock. M3s do weigh 3400 lbs and integras do weigh 2500 lbs.
M3: power to weight ratio (horsepower:pounds) = 0.082352941176471
Teg: power to weight ratio (horsepower:pounds) = 0.0924
It's not a huge difference but it does seem possible that Teg is faster in a straight line. But like everyone else I would still take the M3.

You are, however, talking about modified cars. My car could easily outpace a stock Integra, but if you dump that many mods into it, of course it will destroy me in a race. It's still just apples to oranges.
What car do you have? A stock Integra Type R has 195hp and it runs 14.7 on the 1320.
Audi TT 225. No mods except tires and brakes. It's a bit heavy, so I dunno how the handling would compare, but I'm sure pulling away at 30mph would be no problem. Riced-up SRT4s have tried and failed.
SRT 4's must be weak or somethin, my buddy in a '94 BMW 325is w/ a cold air intake, and a chip beat an SRT-4.

they are not all created equal though. the go up to something like a stage 3 which has a bigger turbo and what not.

he was camping in second gear waiting to nail it. not real impressive.
my shitbox vw will probably keep up with an m3 if you let me camp at 3000 rpm when its time to go.
they were both in 2nd at 40mph...
uh, no.
the guy said it himself.......That is my car in the video. I'm sorry, but I can't read all of the French replies. Yes, that was an M3. Yes, he had downshifted. Yes, he did get on it......
i really doubt you can downshift a M3 into first gear at 40 mph. like i said the guy in the honda was camping while the other guy had to downshift. I'm sure the fart can is fast but that video shows shit.
not to mention the m3 sounded like it MIGHT have touched 3000 rpms.
translation for toxic: he is not racing
edit: btw streetracing is gay and very illegal. take it to the track

integras are closer to 2700 lbs. not that it matters, m3s are built for speed, and integras are built for ricers (eg: noise).
edit: straight line is retarded anyway, try a slalom. only fucking ricers race from 40-60 on a street and claim their pos wheedwhacker engine car is fast.

Is the 225 the 1.8T model? If you've beaten a real SRT-4 in a straight line, then you have a quick car, since a stock SRT-4 generally runs 13.9s. A modified one is easily in the 12's since its a turbo and all. A stock E46 M3 runs 13.5, just to compare. I don't know what yours runs, but it would seriously surprise me that you beat a 230hp compact in a 225hp awd luxury car from a roll... maybe the other guy didn't know how to drive or had an ordinary neon.
It could've been driving skill, I guess. It wasn't an official race or anything -- I'm not into that. It was just some kids trying to box me in on the road. I pulled away from them without trouble. Same thing happened on the highway at ~75mph. Some kids (in an SRT4, again) tried blocking me from getting around someone in the right lane. They kept looking at me like they wanted to race. I had no interest in doing so, so I just pulled away. They were obviously trying to keep up, too.
I couldn't tell you what my TT runs for 1/4s because I've never taken it to a track, but I definitely wouldn't call it a luxury car. I can tell you that the 0-60 times they estimate for it are very conservative.

hey i just said 'the track' ... doesn't matter what kind, since toxic said that type taRd is setup for a race track.

M3 would destroy it
I raced an M3 in my little Polo 1.6 GTI which isnt "slow" per say but
the way in which the M3 owned me is silly. It really was stupidly quick.
I have been in vtec cars and none of them were as quick as that
M3 my mate had....
Actually i lie, there was a 315 bhp Turbo civic my mate was gonna buy
and it left my mates 200sx like it was a bus..but that was different.
the M3 would kill it, simple as!!!
Where were you when the West was defeated?

Well, I haven't driven an E46 or an all motor Teg with 230whp so I can't comment personally. I'm just saying that statistically that specific Teg against a stock E46 would have the edge on a straight track.
Now, if the Teg weighs 2700 pounds like dnoyc suggested then the match would be very close given that the Teg would have a
power to weight ratio (horsepower:pounds) = 0.085185185185185

The teg was 2 up was it not?
though the M3 was too...tho i think i the torque would destroy the teg no drama...
