Recruiting Moderater for F.q4w

Post by Lenard »

We are going to need another moderator for file.quake4world.com. There are lots of things going on with the site right now, but I want to get started early on this. We are looking for someone who is respectable and trusted by a wide majority of the quake community, and also who has a good knowledge of the more technical side. Basically the job is just managing and reviewing the uploaded files, fixing any problems that might arise. Any takers?

Is ssh really needed? Was kind of hoping we would have some sort of moderator interface so that's not really necessary.

sure, but to fix the real problems, you or somebody will have to goto the box once in a while. If it never has to be fussed with, then the review/approve interface will be sufficient. I'll be happy to help as I can with whatever access we get.

Yah, as we build more trust with people, ssh may be given out for access. But for now, web access will work. SSH can be quite risky. :icon31:

We are looking for mods in addition to ourselves, we can handle anything involving the server. We're looking for somebody to write reviews for files and make sure they are legitimate.

I don't understand that whole conversation. I still have no idea who he was talking about.
