Anyone ever heard of Sudoku?

Post by Transient »

Apparently it's some puzzle fad that's gotten quite a following, completely unbeknownst to me. I've never seen or heard of a single person doing this, and 20 minutes ago was the first time I heard of it when I got bored and checked out How Stuff Works for the hell of it. I stumbled a cross this article and got interested.

So it's this logic puzzle game that has only one final correct answer. It's a 9x9 grid separated into 9 3x3 boxes. A few numbers are placed in various places on the grid. Each box must contain the numbers 1-9, each row in the 9x9 grid must contain one of each number as well, and the same goes for the columns. Lots of process of elemination is involved, I guess.

Here's a website about it:
http://www.dailysudoku.co.uk/sudoku/index.shtml

I have to take a dump, so I think I'll print out one and give it a try.

Anyone else heard of this, or done it? Thoughts?

Yah, it's a huge craze for reasons unbeknownst to me. I personally find them too easy and boring.

is he going to be at the asahi comp in japan? was in a pub the other day where they were holding the uk leg - next one is in japan.

not a fan of it myself, if i'm going to do something completely non-productive then i'll play a computer game.

Woot, I just completed my first puzzle, the one on the front page of the link in my first post. Took me an hour, but I did it! :p
