Why do I hate the Democratic party?

With opposition like this, who needs friends?

WASHINGTON -- After months of trying unsuccessfully to develop a common message on the war in Iraq, Democratic Party leaders are beginning to coalesce around a broad plan to begin a quick withdrawal of US troops and install them elsewhere in the region, where they could respond to emergencies in Iraq and help fight terrorism in other countries.
Their biggest point of debate, apparently, being how much detail to include in the official strategy document - out of fear that it might give the republicans something to attack.

So yet again this is what it's come to -- the democrats basing their political philosophy on whatever doesn't require too much backbone (the opposition party wouldn't want to be called obstructionists now! :o! ), and insures they don't have to get in any kind of real disagreements with the republicans where they would be forced to try to defend their ideas.

Why do we need them at all? They exhibit nearly all the characteristics of the Bush administration, except with no spine or anything original to bring to the table.
