For $10.00 it isn't a bad diversion from the visiting in-laws though.

XIII
I needed an FPS to kill some time with this weekend, and tried another bargain bin choice in XIII. Not bad so far, but I hate games that don't have quicksave options, mainly because when I have shit to do and want to stop playing, I'd like the freedom of being able to do it right fucking now.

what about the simple pause button? perhaps the save points are too far apart?tnf wrote:I needed an FPS to kill some time with this weekend, and tried another bargain bin choice in XIII. I have the PC version. I understand the way that making save points creates a challenge, moreso than just being able to quicksave whereever you want, but I like to be able to sit and play for as long or as little as I want and be able to pick right up where I left off when I get back - be it a day or a week later. Of course this wouldn't work for some types of games, but for a FPS adventure like this it makes life a bit easier.

yes, I'm talking about quicksaving where you can stop wherever you want and start back there. I understand the 'temptation' and the challenge of save points here and there, but at the same time, there are times I'd like to be able to start and stop where I damn well please. If I have a quick 15 minutes to sit down and play a game, I'd like to be able to do so without dealing with a situation where the save points are 10 or so minutes apart.Chupacabra wrote:is quicksaving where you can just save anywhere you want and continue or is it where you can save anywhere you want, the game will quit and go back to the main menu. then, you can continue from that point only one time.
i like the second one. it removes the temptation to save all the damn time.
