when he mentioned the MS Windows thing and how as soon as he put his copy of Windows on another computer, MS was all over that shit.

how plausible is that?

Why would he return the laptop? If I was the student and all of that was true, I'd just throw it away.

Yea, but I love the word TRANSPONDER. And he lost his credibility when he tried to say that Microsoft was right on the case when a second copy of windows was installed...heh.

pretty good. but yeah the windows thing is the biggest giveaway. i've installed my legit copy of windows on 3 different computers without the "you need a new cd key" message yet.

he could have the ultra super special edition of windows that is worth $100,000 therefore MS would care if it was installed on another computer.

It isn't rare for professors to do work in highly classified fields of research.

For instance, my dad has worked for various projects under the D.O.E. while also teaching part-time at a local university as a hobby. As a result, he has various folders and documents that are classified. If the documents are stolen or copied, the person doing so faces criminal charges.

I realize maybe the professor in the video is using some scare tactics. However, the scenario isn't all unheard of. Even some of my CS professors at my university had been doing work for NSA and other government organizations.
