You don't really need anything else. Just make sure you stick to the official maps when you start out so you learn how the game works.

there are a TON of custom maps..

but unlike quake3 or 4, most ET servers allow you to dl custom maps at 100k+.. so getting a custom map is not a prob.

Its an awesome game, it may take a little bit to learn the fundamentals, but once you do its very addictive.

While your at it be sure to check out this awesome map:

It's a great game. I haven't played it for a month now as I left my previous clan because they just weren't competitive. If you want to get extremely good in this game Riddla, and don't mind having the patience, then by all means play with the ET Pro mod. It is the hardest, most challenging, and best mod to play in. Also, make sure you play on clan servers that enforce anti-cheating and hacking rules. Nothing more to say, just pick a class and get good at it, then repeat for all other classes until you've mastered every weapon and objective. I can give you a list of the best custom maps if you ever want a change from the 6 originals.

ETPro ftw :icon14:, autodownload should do the rest.

edit: And if any know of any worthwhile servers, please post 'em.
edit2: We should get a q3w ET game going some time.

The Evil Smurfs Lair should be challenging enough. I've played these guys a few times in clan matches.

I used to play ET for about a year, since the day it came out (played RTCW before that); was in 502nd then WolfJaeger (which both got pretty far in TWL and CAL), then stopped playing altogether, and moved to DOD. I think I might start playing it again for old time's sake...haven't played it in almost 2 years. :icon23:

Can't wait for ET:QW, though :icon14:

You mean the custom server?
The regular server was a joke.
