Resident Evil 4

Post by feedback »

is really brilliant. I'm playing through for the 2nd time on professional right now, maxed out just the punisher (shit weapon) and the tmp (awesome). It's very challenging but still always fun, and fun to watch on a projector too. anybody else tried it?

have you tried professional mode? This is the only game I can think of where the more frustrating or challenging the more fun it is.

Played the game while on vacation last year, haven't played professional though. Loved the game. Probably going to play it again pretty soon.

Really? Anyone that has a gc should have this game. :o

I think re4 is one of those rare games that makes you replay it even if it has the challenging bits because the combat system is so satisfying. Some parts might feel tough but blowing up chunks of baddies with a shotgun or the bolt-action rifle is soo damn nice. :>

I haven't played it on the harder mode. Have you beaten any of the mini-games? I've kicked the living shit out of the mercenary levels and no matter how many of those time extenders and combos I get I just can't unlock anyone.

Yeah, I love every minute of it, even if I die a shitload. Notably frustrating parts include the cabin, the cage trap in the castle, and fighting the 2 wolverine-looking guys. But still, I fucking love shooting them mexicans in the knees and suplexing them until their head smashes open.

no way, you just have to upgrade it. All the way up, it's 1.9 damage, so it's about 2 regular pistol shots. Only it has a 250 or 300 round clip, which means you can kill almost anything big with it, and you can also just tap fire and use one tiny bullet to take the legs off a lot of zombies to set them up for a grenade or a kick/suplex. Plus, everytime you upgrade the clip, you get full ammo- so it's smart to use it until it's dry (but don't reload) if you know you'll upgrade the capacity soon.

Dunno if you realized this yet (I didn't until I got killed more than once), but they're blind. They're attracted by sound you make (that's what the big gongs are for). It makes it a damn sight easier.

hahaha, if I didn't know that it really would be impossible to get past them. The first time through on normal, it took me about an hour to get past that room, and I wasted a lot of ammo. The 2nd time on pro, I saved the rocket launcher from earlier, shot the gong closest to me, and killed both of them with one rocket when their backs were turned. I was so happy that I immeaditly left the room (I didn't move forward, so the doors didn't seal) and came back only to remember that the 30k gold they were carrying had just been lost because I was retarded. Oh well.

The cage trap in the castle is soooo easy if you know what to do. Skip the cutscene heading into it, drop a flash grenade immediately, then toss a normal grenade at the door. The door opens immediately and all those pansy monks run away crying.

I love the RE series. I'm watching a video on IGN of the game and it looks great. Looking forward to this hitting the pc. I like the questions it still asks you when you pick up an item, like 'take the rifle?' That started off in the original alone in the dark game way back.

Wow, that is easy. I opened the door with 3 shotgun blasts, but the wolverine guy would hit me (on pro, leaving 1 bar of life) and then as I tried to get through the door, the mace guys would swing and kill me. Next time I'll do that.
