So I've got uTorrent running, and two transferring 2 torrents atm; one with around 9 seeds and 60 peers, going at 23kbps, the other with 78 seeds and 20 peers, going at 40kbps average. Both have different amount of participants, with the second having 406 seeds and 120 peers.
Problem is, neither of them seem to go above 40kbps at all, even though the first has been running for 2 days now.
I've got all my ports opened, and UPnP port mapping is disabled in every way I could, so those aren't the problem. I've got my uploads capped at around 40% of my total bandwidth, so that shouldn't be a saturation problem either.
However, browsing in FF is severely crippled (read: bandwidth genocide), even when my total BT download goes to 20kbps.
Any help with the FF crippling / download speeds being like Terry Schaivo in a race would be awesome.

I dunno then... you sure your router works better with upnp off? Wouldn't you have to turn off upnp on both utorrent and the router? There is also a upnp service in win xp
I use a software firewall (not on always though), and upnp is on in Azureus. Upload capped at 80% (about 30kb), and most of the time I can get close to max download speeds (somewhere around 300kb), but it depends on the torrent, yadayada...
You sure your router is up to snuff on handling large volume downloads that bt utilizes? You could maybe try downloading without the router/try using Azureus
still the bt champ.
