love the cinematography I can see in the trailer sofar

apperently they've cut 33 minutes from the original film for the DVD versions released outside China

its only rated a 5 on imdb.com. but the comments are very mixed, so I am ordering it via ebay anyways :p

It is pretty indeed. But as fascinating as it looks, I'm getting a little sick of the way live action Asian cinema just mimcs anime sensibilities when there's so much more they could do with it.

well those are just the major releases, this movie had the biggest budget ever (for a Chinese/ Hong Kong movie)
Also watched 'The Myth' yesterday, featuring Jackie Chan and it was a decent movie, but also had quite a bit missed oppurtunities sadly, similar in the way you depict

there are still loads of real gems to be seen :)
