The Regiment (brits finest S.A.S) release on Thursday for PC

Some info:

-An intense, fast paced first person shooter based on real-life tactics and procedures of the CRW (Counter Revolutionary Warfare) wing of the British Special Air Service (S.A.S.)

-Designed in collaboration with former S.A.S. staff instructor Rhett Butler.
In-game video briefings given by John MacAleese - S.A.S. veteran of the Iranian Embassy Siege

-Real-time ordering system: Take command of an S.A.S. assault squad and guide them through brutal close quarter battles! Your mission - to save the lives of the hostages!

-Action focused gameplay from insertion to extraction! No need for tedious mission planning, as in real-life once the S.A.S. get deployed - negotiations are over!

-High realism AI - realistic terrorist, hostage and squad behaviour.

-Single player campaigns based on a variety of historical and fictional scenarios - including a recreation of the Iranian Embassy Siege of 1980

-Train in the world famous S.A.S. 'Killing House'. Learn room clearance skills and perfect the dark art of double tapping!

-Multiplayer game modes such as co-op and adversial with up to 20 players

-Powered by the Unreal Engine™ - includes Karma Physics

How cool dosent this sound:
-You will also be able to take the game online allowing you and three other friends to tackle missions in co-op mode, and to ensure your combined squad is a well-greased killing unit, a team training mode will be included to allow players to train together online before taking the fight to real opposition.

And this!:
-Four different campaigns will feature, including a slightly embellished recreation of the Iranian Embassy siege, while other entirely fictional scenarios take place inside the Houses of Parliament, a Yorkshire farmhouse, and the London Metro (that'll be the tube then).
Despite missions taking place one after another, they're meant to be occurring simultaneously in realtime, which effectively means your actions with one squad will have implications for your experiences with another.
In the Iranian Embassy scenario, for example, as Red One squad leader you will be responsible for clearing and securing the rooftop. If you shoot a terrorist off the roof, their body will be seen hitting the floor - or impaling on spiked railings - when leading a team securing lower areas.

Those screenshots show the levels to be very one-dimensional design-wise.

Would have hoped that by now tactical shooters would be pushing much larger freeform landscapes :(

Its the truth.
Its just that your an patriotic American so you refuse to admit that another country is better than your country, S.A.S have trained them ALL!
They have had trainers in most elite forces all over the world and many elite units have come to S.A.S to train and to try their courses etc.
U.S SWAT originally trained the way S.A.S trained and took all their elite skills and used them in their own training.

S.A.S been around since WW2 and are the best of the best, anyone disagree is a fool.
