The Jonestown Death Tape

The little kids are the first to go...hearing them cry and plead while their parents feed them the drink is probably the most disturbing thing I've heard in awhile.
and Jone's voice saying to the adults to stop "the nonsense of exciting their children" - probably the parents crying and hugging them while they die.

eh? I'm not Strangler. The whole Jonestown is pretty interesting, disturbing and depressing though.eepberries wrote:Obligatory FUCK OFF STRANGLER
I would argue with the person that says that it's surprising how much power he commanded, but all of his followers were fucking morons, I just feel bad for the kids born into it. To prove my point, listen to the woman in the beginning talking about life having hope and not to die - just for disagreeing with Jones (or they call him "father"/"dad"), it sparks an almost Jerry Springer like argument within the audience.
Whatever, curiosity got the best of me when I heard about the tape so I downloaded it and gave it a listen, I kind of regret it now but it's interesting none the less.
If you've seen the pictures and read about the incident in articles and are curious to know what was being said to make these people do it, then give it a listen.
Also, yeah, a lot of the bodies were shot and forcefully injected, not everyone was willing to do it...although you don't hear much resistence in the tape. Also, Jones himself wasn't posioned, but shot in the head..it's unclear whether it was suicide (why not just drink the kool-aid?) or murder.
