random itching, am I going crazy?

Post by Postal »

So earlier today, I was sitting on my couch just playing Prince of Persia when my lower back started to itch - reaching around and scratching seemed to do nothing, and the movement of hands seemed to only spread it all around my back, and eventually over my chest and stomach. After about 5 minutes of frantic searching for relief, the itching mysteriously stopped.
I shrugged it off as odd, and forgot about it until a few minutes ago when it started again, with no causes and then a disappearing around 5 minutes after.
I've not been around poison ivy, or anyone who has been in contact with it, and there are no pets around today.

Any ideas on what causes this temporary random itching?

Bleh, should have rephrased that.
I don't take medication for anything; the "out of the ordinary" meant that nothing has happened today that wouldn't happen on a normal day.

edit: fuck it, sleep.

Did you eat anything odd today? Could be an allergic reaction.

Yea, this is most likely the case if you notice any red blotch's on your skin.

urticaria could be the cause if the rash was raised at all,
tbh sounds like urticaria, more you scratch worse the itch gets until u scratch so hard pain receptors kick in and block the itch.
Mast cells in the dermal layers cause that shit and it happens when u get too warm, which could happen when sitting on a couch.

mind playing tricks on you? I find it odd that it would mysteriously stop like that and you haven't got it since.

It's clearly penile infection:
The prostatic urethra is the widest part of the tube and passes through the prostate gland. It is made up of fibrous tissue, muscle fibers, and tiny glandular openings that connect to the prostate. The membranous urethra is approximately three-quarters of an inch long and lies between the triangular ligaments of the pelvis. The spongy urethra is the longest part and extends through the penis to the glans (tip of the penis). The corpus spongiosum is the lower area of the penis that surrounds and protects the urethra.

Yeah this could be it, similar thing happened to me, except I went from the couch to the shower, to the hospital :icon32:

Apparently eating the same thing I ate the night before except I got an allergic reaction and swelled up to the point where it was hard to breathe.

To this day I have no idea what caused it, I have been tested for everything and no reaction. fucking weird

Crabs...spreading like wildfire, and then realizing who they're on they recoil and die of almost instantly.

Is it really dry where you are? You could just need to moisturize after you get out of the shower to seal the moisture in. I have always wondered why men will let their backs get all dry and flaky and not even think about lotion. :olo:

Other thoughts: Hives? Heat rash?
