They're probably going to be sent to afghanistan (again), but a number of them refuse because they don't see the need of being sent to a war area (or feel that they're sent out too often).
What the fuck did they join the army for then? Building dikes out of sandbags?
So this is what the Dutch army consists of...
lol at sig.
most people who join our army are the Ferry and Maikol's of this country who barely finished highschool and think its cool to be in the army (after which theyll work in their uncle Lof's butchershop). when actual work (other than cooking on a cruiser) is required they bitch.

i seem to recall some new recruits in the US whining about the possibility they might actually have to fight and be exposed to danger. i guess this is what happens when the military is sold to people as a career like any other, instead of a dangerous occupation in which you might end up dead or maimed

That reminds me of the families of British troops killed overseas that you see on the news saying "He went to war and he was killed as a result. We should bring our soldiers home to stop other families going through what we are now."Eraser wrote:They're probably going to be sent to afghanistan (again), but a number of them refuse because they don't see the need of being sent to a war area (or feel that they're sent out too often).

I understand that it is painful for those who have lost friends and family, but I can't understand the logic behind people saying they joined the army and died. Anybody thinking that life in the armed forces is about getting paid for sporting a bad haircut shouldn't be in the armed forces in the first place!
