I agree. And a lot of those bands have been releasing good stuff even after the nineties, too.

Stuff like My Chemical Romance, Brand New & Fall Out Boy. It's not all that bad, but not exactly what I like. Haven't heard of the bands you posted, but I'll look into it.
Wrong.

Anyway,

Sparta sucks. Have you heard Hella? They toured with the mars volta and system of a down. They are way better than both of them but I heard the reaction was more like "What the fuck."

Get their "Oceanic" and "Panopticon" albums - you won't regret it.

Nor would I, but it's a far cry from Rammstein, so I was just giving him a warning that it might not be as hard rock as he was hoping.

I dunno, I kinda like Sparta. I've only got Wiretap Scars though.

Hella sounds interesting, although I can't really stand stuff that's too experimental, how bad are they, on a scale from Bon Jovi to Metal Machine Music?

Then I said to Grudge:

They are pretty much... like nothing you have ever heard or seen before. Zack Hill ftw. Basically it is like... a man that can express whatever he wants to create through his drums with 100 % efficiency. Then there is like guitar and other stuff. Pretty damned experimental... not improvised though.

A Perfect Circle
Tool
Dark Tranquility - Especially check this band out, given your original list
Devil Doll - any chance I get, i pimp this band - they work better as albums, rather than individual songs. See if you can aquire "The girl who was Death" or "Dies Irea"
Flaw - I dislike them now, but you might get on with them
In Flames
Marilyn Manson - if you can get past the connotations he has with angsty teenage PEVOs, he's actually quite good.
Megaherz - A less good Rammstein esque band
Rhapsody - for something different. - epic hollywood metal
Smashing Pumpkins?
Within Temptation

and the Finnish section:
Sonata Arctica
Nightwish
Children of Bodom
Apocalyptica
Finntroll - get Trollhammeren

Can I also use this oppertunity to pimp the last.fm q3w group:

http://www.last.fm/group/quake3world

last.fm / audioscrobbler is a free music database type site, you can listen to streamed playlists generated by search criteria (like http://www.pandora.com but better).

You can also download a little thing that logs what music you play, and can suggest possible music you may be interested in.
