Pre-load website graphics...?
Pre-load website graphics...?
I'm in the middle of re-making the misses site, where she sells lampwork beads and stuff like that. Anways, something came up...
The site is very slow to load, because of the pics. Doesn't make any difference either if the pics are saved in 50% compressed jpeg, it looks ugly as sin but still, wont load fast at all.
I guess what i want to know is how do i force certain pictures to load, and be saved onto the computers tempory files? I've done this in the past but it excapes me now lol.

What do you mean by preloading? The only kind of preloading that's useful is rollover preloading where you call the images in javascript but don't immediately implement them.o'dium wrote:Hmmm... Its quite possible my 10meg broadband is being a little twat again, but either way, i would still like the pre-loading thing
aye, it could be damn near impossible for some people to read. loads quickly enough though.brisk wrote:same, it loads quite fast actually.
the only prob is the type, which isn't very legible atm.

edit: if you're using dw, you might as well use it's own preloader script.
