That's as many as people playing Duke 3D over the net. Looks like some competition for the two.

yeah RoE CTF is awesome, its too bad not many people play it anymore. When RoE was fisrt out there were many servers going....good times indeed.

It would be nice if we could get A Q3world RoE CTF thing going, I'd love that.

Does seriously no-one play Doom3 online? Cause I'm planning on getting a PC which can run Doom3, but if no-one plays it online, there seems no point really :(

Edit: My ICQ status here is showing me as offline though I am online with Trllian ... ?

And what's with the wierd word wrap thing, is this a problem with Windows XP Notepad or the input box here?

Doom 3 is pretty much a failure when it comes to online play.

Enough other great games that are reason enough to upgrade your PC though. Quake 4 multiplayer is quite decent and Doom 3 does offer an enjoyable single player experiene.

I don't really have a PC at the moment, so it's really getting a PC not an upgrade, cause my PC all broke,

massive hardware failure all round, cause of power cuts and stuff I think. I could get it fixed maybe, but I

needed a new PC anyway. I could get a cheap one that's out dated to play Q3A on...
People still play Q3A, right? :(
Man Doom3 stopped before I started on it, sounds like Team Arena again, except with that I wasn't that

bothered, cause it was only Team Arena. I'd really hoped to play some Doom3 online sometime really.

Edit: I expect I'll be looking for players like 'I cant spell u' is if and when I get a PC which can run

Doom3.

Doom 3 MP never really took off. One could say Team Arena was popular for a short amount of time.

You really won't miss much not having played D3 multiplayer. Try Quake 4 multiplayer. It's a much more solid mp game than Doom 3.

And yeah, Q3A is still played quite a bit.

But the Quake4 marines in multiplayer don't have the same "look" as the Doom3 ones, they look in a screenshot

like they run funny. It's not right, man. It's just not right.

I'm relieved Q3A is still played quite a bit.

Funny run animation or not, Quake 4 is still far more enjoyable than Doom 3 IMO

Every now and then, but my computer can only run it on low settings, and the rocket launcher makes for an unenjoyable experience at times.

Sorry you felt that way, I think it's a marvellous game, you should play it at Ultimate Quality with 5.1 surround sound ;)

I'll never get tired of Doom 3 :D

I liked D3. Of course I didn't go into it thinking it would be the genre changing game and all that. Just enjoyed it for what it was. Yeah a few monster closets. Big deal, the overall game was enjoyable to me.

Nah, q1, 2 and 3 only. Just never got into the D3 mp deal. I knew they meant it as SP and just dealt with that.
