just let them (Audi) take care of it.
Because:
-I bought the car before I returned to school, and I am far from well-off right now.
-It wasn't too expensive to buy, but it's quite expensive to repair.
-Even if I did have plenty of money to afford any and all repairs, I'd still rather be in control of what they do. If they say there is something that urgently needs fixing, I'll trust them. I just don't want to say to them: do whatever the book says.
-I'm shopping around. I want a list I can give some shops for a quote.

For the basic tune-up and checklist, I'm taking it to a Euro-import shop. If they say something should be done, I'll want to get another opinion. (Audi dealership is a ways out of my way, and painfully expensive)

i don't really agree with any of your reasons, since i believe if you want to drive a nice car you should be prepared for any repair costs - no big deal. hope things go well.

Oh, I agree... I knew it would be expensive when I got it, so I'm prepared to pay for it. If I couldn't do that, I'd just sell the car and get something else.
I just don't see any reason to pay extra for things I don't need done. In the end, I'll have them look it all over and offer their own expert opinion. I just wanted to hear what others had to say.

The other side of it is also that I want to make sure nothing important gets missed. That was my other reason for asking. Your point is well taken, though. Thanks.

As much as I get joy out of things like that, in this case I didn't do it. That being said: Hahahahaahah.

Get the suspension greased. It's amazing how many people don't do that.
