I've been reading about this lens. Supposedly very nice, but the barrel/pin-cushion/vignetting at the extremes make some people sad pandas. I'm holding out for now.

Canon is evil. I bet the company has gotten at least $30,000 out of just the members of this forum.

(not counting Doombrain, who gets all his equipment for free)

From what I've read, it depends on who you believe... plus it depends on how much things like that trouble you and what crop factor your camera is. The only people I've seen complain about vignetting are people who use FF cameras. I would have bought one, but it cost more than the 24-70 and didn't have a rebate, so forget that. I'll keep my 1 kilo brick >:E

I share the same sentiments. Go all the way or don't do it at all. It's just money...
Picked up the D2x and 85mm F1.4 last year and prints look so good that I'll probably trade in all my medium format gear soon and pick up a classic FM2/T for sentimental value.

Anything above A4 I post process myself and bring it to my regular pro-lab down the street because they're really good and cheap. They did a handful of 40"x30" prints for my photo exhibition a while back. Don't know what printer they use but usually it's on Kodak Endura archival matte finish paper. Personally I use a Canon iP8500 at home.
