Call Of Duty server setup problem

Does anyone know of any good COD forums because I am having a hell of a time trying to start a non-dedicated server, let my friend join and then play him in it head to head? I have the latest patch and all the ports open, no luck. I tried dedicated servers too but I only get the console screen, then I can't play in the server.

Download Gameranger and look for Call of Duty servers in your area.
