Oregon is a shithole lately. The golf course here was entirely submerged in water, creating an enormous lake. There's probably dozens of newly created lakes around here where all the flat areas used to be, it's well fucked. And there's this fucking gloom and doom looking black cloud that just hovers around over here.
I love quake!

Here in Perth, Australia we've just had the coolest year's end since 1922. ( http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/20 ... 540032.htm )

Dunno what that indicates - perhaps that increasing amounts of energy driving the weather system can push temperatures down as well as up. Or maybe it's just that interpreting statistics is rarely straightforward.

On an unrelated note I was watching hdnet on florida's springs and thought it was weird to see disappearing lakes.

2 days and a lake would just disappear.. :D

Vancouver recently had 26 days of straight rain :icon21: . In the middle of BC, where I grew up, temps are only dropping to -20 or so now instead of the constant -35 I remember as a kid.

It was in the 60's here this weekend. The end of January, solid in the middle of winter, and it's weather for playing disc golf in t-shirts.

And it's not fond nostalgia making me realize that it wasn't like this just a few years ago.

Temps here in the Midwest US have been MUCH higher than normal this winter and Milwaukee even hit the odd record of 16 days w/o visible sunshine. It has been a really fucking grey winter out here.... (but I'm kind of happy - the temp hasn't gone below 0 almost at all).... :icon26:

Or it shows that the entire world won't follow a simple pattern. Some areas will be affected with heat while others may be submerged in water and some become frozen tundras.

I followed this thread until the only Geooff post I ever agreed with was removed.

Me too. Not saying I totally agreed with what he said, but he didn't say it in the usual "Moron Alert" fashion :)

yeah i mention theres a volcano thats erupting in alaska as we speak that has released more carbon dioxide in 2 weeks then all the cars in the world in the past 30 years...and there is no consensus between scientists that gw is caused by humans and may just be natural and it gets removed...good indication why drum not only should not be mod...but he should be bant...

I'm not sure it was the mods, because a whole bunch of posts disappeared.
Could've been them, though.
