Hey guys,
I interviewed for a guerilla marketing business in San Francisco that targeted web forums.
I was told that if I accepted the job, I was to have at LEAST 50 identities on as many forums as I could muster (they wanted 100 eventually), with a goal of 5 posts an hour. The posts had to be well thought out, and the idea was that I was to establish multiple identities with a history on the forums, so that when the timing was right a well written but subtly placed marketing post could be finessed in. And regular visitors would recognize the post as coming from a long time poster.
They had 12 people working there full time, and were hiring 10 more. You do the math. No wait, I'll do it for you: that's 880 posts a day (if minimum was met). However he said the better ones could do around 8 or 10 an hour. And they had different "verticals" so there was the sports guy, and the games guy, the hentai, excuse me I mean anime guy, etc.
But the most critical point was this: develop and integrate the identity. No random "HEY EB GAMES IS AWESOME BUY THIS" stuff.
Kinda spooky.

I'm not sure if you heard, but Quake 4 is fully optimized to take advantage of the breakthrough audio technologies of Sound Blaster X-Fi.
Sound Blaster X-Fi utilizes EAX advanced HD 5.0 to run multiple reverbs at the same time. The Quake 4 environment is mapped for different reverbs, and has complete support of occlusion effects. Additionally, X-RAM, a great new feature in Sound Blaster X-Fi series, is fully supported by Quake 4, and continuously used through out the game. Gaming audio can be decoded and stored within X-Ram for faster access. Finally, the best feature of Sound Blaster X-Fi series is the Open AL support, which is fully utilized the Sound Blaster X-Fi's superior hardware acceleration. Before the Sound Blaster X-Fi, I had an onboard audio solution with no Open AL support. I was forced to use the CPU for all of the audio effects processing which wasted precious CPU cycles... CPU cycles that I could have been using to frag a squib with :icon1:
I really can't believe there are people out there who don't get to experience Quake 4 the way it was meant to be played... with Sound Blaster X-Fi. Sound Blaster X-Fi, I sold my kidney for it.

I was really sad when I found out a few days ago that EBGames was bought out by Gamestop. I heard the employee talking about it in the store and how things are going to be changing in the store so it becomes more like Gamestop. Personally, I despise Gamestop. We already have one in our mall, and it's the hugest cesspool of a video game store I've seen in my life. They have a couple shelves of unorganized used game boxes against the walls. Then they have a big double shelf of shitty used movies and videos in the center and another of some controllers/strategy guides/toys. They have small shelf stocked with shitty "new" computer games with boxes in a wide variety of conditions. The only new console games they actually have are locked behind glass behind the register. They only have the newest of the new there. Their selection is complete shit.
Now, my EBGames wasn't heaven either, but at least it was better than that shithole.

Yup, EBgames and Gamestop are in my mall. I used to go to EBgames because they would sell me M rated games even though I wasn't old enough and they bought used computer games and such and had all the some oldies there like Quake 2. Now they have none of those and they don't buy used computer games anymore. Gaymestop sucks imo.
