Just as unstylish as the other one.

It does look like a Game&Watch - an extremely cluttered one. I'd take an SP (or micro even) over that any day.

Thank god... it kills me the new GBA backlight screen is so vibrant - I knew Nintendo would have no choice but to upgrade the DS's screens.

I'll be eagerly waiting for this. :drool:

as in brighter?
well you can set 4 different brightness settings now.
cant see how this couldnt be done with a firmware update though

It could. Plus, this design was probably sitting on the table when they picked the first design.

It's becoming standard practice to ship a second edition of any console now. Whereas Sony seem to redesign to a much smaller unit with proper improvements, and the GBA redesign really was an excellent improvement, this looks like it barely offers anything over the first design, and still looks like shit.

I'll reserve actual judgement until I get my hands on it tho. The DS felt like a cheap heavy piece of crap. If they've got the materials right then they might have a half decent handheld style for the DS, finally.
