Asking help to fellow id fans

I'm a fan of id and one of the things I do admire id is for
the way they release their games.

id model is a model based on giving freedom of choice to the
customer, to us PC Gamers.

Quake 4 was released 3 months ago and id has already made a
patch available to remove the need for the CD/DVD inserted
to play even if they know piracy is unfortunately very bad.

This id model of giving us total freedom contrasts with the
total different way Valve releases their games in Retail.
With Valve Retail PC Games have product activation, the need
to create and register an account and to have net access to
install and play a single-player game.

Valve model is totally the opposite of id model.
So I ask id fans and I'm sure they are fans cause they also
admire the way id releases their games to read and if agree
to sign this petition I made.

I'm only asking for solidarity and for those that even if
don't mind doing product activation in a Retail game or not
being able to play a game anonymously or needing internet
to install and play a single-player game then to at least
think about all the many PC Gamers out there that don't
have net access in the PC they use for games or if they
have they only have a slow pay-by-the-minute dial-up net
narrowband connection and would like also to be able to
buy and play Half-Life 2 too.
And very important this only applies to the Retail boxed
packaged version in CD/DVD and not the online delivery one
via electronic distribution system Steam.
