Porcupine Tree

Post by DRuM »

Someone posted this on a drum forum. It's a complete concert by porcupine tree. Amazing band. Btw, the drummer was my teacher when I was 21 and he was about 18. I knew he was good then but I had no idea what an absolute monster player he's become. Anyway, enjoy the gig. If you like dream theatre, you'll like this.
Great guitar playing as well.

Wtf? Noone? This a complete concert of a highly skilled band playing complex intelligent music which is right up there with the likes of dream theatre. I'm pretty sure juggy, eraser and a few others would dig it. Cmon, watch it or I'll have to stab you.

The problem with this thread Drum is that everyone thinks you're a cunt.

Lol, do yourself a favour and fuck off Jackoff. If you think people here are not interested in hearing a great band simply because they think I'm a cunt then there's something seriously wrong with you. I'm sure it's true for you though you bitter twat.

Wierdly, when I clicked your link, I didn't get
a highly skilled band playing complex intelligent music
Instead, I got a bunch of lame Eurometal

Are you sure you had the right link?

p.s. dream theater is shit.

Here's a hint: if you see a band video with a bunch of germans headbanging, it's not worth your while

Er, for someone that's learning drums and trying not to hit himself in the balls when he plays, you really ought to be checking out this drummer. :icon30:

It's not necessarily better than other bands but certainly as good.
This band has lots going on in the music, different time signatures and shit. It's music for the mind as well as anything else, it's not some dumb thrash band that most people would probably prefer.

I hate how Dream Theater thinks their music is so great and advanced, just because they play fast (albiet well) and in obscure time signatures :/

Well, can you play as fast and/or in such strange and obscure time signatures?
