Red hot headers are not that impressive anymore, i see them all the time on Sr setup 240's... the allmost liquid exaust Gass's that are firing out of them and being sucked in.. NOW that is impressive!

btw, what is the output this year?

I mean Glowing headers,

and when you run a SR setup, they run quite hot, and usually the Manafold, Turbo Trim housing, and the Down tube are glowing red after a little beating aroudn the track..

the engine its self is impressive.

And who's got the #'s for what this engine does?

no one has released figures for the V8's yet.
but in general, they're expecting around 700-800 bhp @ ~16K RPM.
from a 2.4L :o

I think 16K RPM is the general rev limit that will be imposed on the V10's this year. Most of the new V8's should run close to 20K RPM.

jesus... 20K redline? that is a LONG first gear! :)

i was amazed when i seen the high rev build up's for the Honda B16's and the Mazda 1.8L V6's to get them past the 10'000RPM mark... But 20'000!?!

wow.. just wow.

i am going to see if i can find the gear ratios and etc for the cart's, i have a feeling that first is incredably short.

Well, with a 7-speed gearbox, it's probably not that bad :icon32:

Here's a clip of the Cosworth F1 V8 hitting 20K RPM: http://www.cosworth.com/downloads/coswo ... 2fa7d7bc92

And remember this is all normally aspirated stuff, since forced induction isn't allowed in F1 :)

speaking of high-revving insane hp:ltr engines... is the Suzuki Hayabusa engines the most efficient ever mass produced?
i was reading an article about the radical sr3 which uses an N/A 275hp 1.5L 4cyl Hayabusa motor. 183hp:ltr ... thats madness.

that's nothing. gp bikes get 250-300hp out of a 990cc NA i4/v5.

turbo'd busas get anywherer from 400-700hp depending oh how much boost you run, but it's not really practical for anything except straight lines.

edit: and the F1 engines put out more than 183hp/liter anyway. if you take the bottom range of 700hp/2.4l that's 291hp/l. in reality those engines drop more than 700hp, probably closer to 800hp.

edit2: nm you said mass produced. but to be fair a 1.5l busa engine is not really mass produced since it's bored out from it's normal 1.3l. in any case i think the zx10r or gsxr1k engine have the highest hp/l of any mass produced engines in stock form.
