No kidding. And I read the other day (may have been posted here?) that they are considering placing screeners who will psychoanalyze people to see if they should be allowed to fly - based on things such as facial expressions, failure to meet the screener's eyes, fast pulse or sweating, etc. It's all so ridiculous it feels like some bad B movie.

I have to admit, I'd feel much safer with an armed pilot than I would with some half-assed security screeners at the airport. Sure, they'll be able to stop the complete idiots, but if anyone with real motivation tries something the screeners are completely useless.

No no, I'm not saying I feel threatened when I fly -- just saying that if ever something came up that DID make me feel threatened, I would be more comfortable knowing that the pilot was armed.

edit: I'm not the sweaty, paranoid guy who thinks there must be a crazy Islamerrist with a death-wish on every plane I board.
