"Aggravated battery" doesn't fuckin mean "battery resulting from aggravation." It means "assault with intent to seriously injure"/"with a weapon"/etc.menkent wrote:aggravated battery? helplessness aggravates them?
should be charged with a hate crimes x3.
It's is the more serious version of battery, just as aggravated assault is the more serious version of assault.
I compared the two using the word 'wrong', not 'identical situations'.Foo wrote:Aside from noone dying, and there being consent, and in fact the only similarities being physical violence and the homeless, and nothing else, you're totally right they're identical situations.

If you weren't trying to suggest that the 2 situations were somehow comparable then there wasn't any logic to your post.mjrpes wrote:I compared the two using the word 'wrong', not 'identical situations'.Foo wrote:Aside from noone dying, and there being consent, and in fact the only similarities being physical violence and the homeless, and nothing else, you're totally right they're identical situations.
You are now saying 'somehow comparable', which is completely different than 'identical situations'; I can't respond to your posts that well if you don't make clear what you mean.Foo wrote:If you weren't trying to suggest that the 2 situations were somehow comparable then there wasn't any logic to your post.mjrpes wrote:I compared the two using the word 'wrong', not 'identical situations'.Foo wrote:Aside from noone dying, and there being consent, and in fact the only similarities being physical violence and the homeless, and nothing else, you're totally right they're identical situations.
Let me rephrase the question. Is there anybody out there who feels bum-murder to be wrong but feels paid bum-fights to be OK?

stfu foo with your feaux pragmatism...overpriviledged kids pinning 2 desperate (often addicted) people not 100% sane is a fucking morally corrupt act, anyway you look at it.Foo wrote:If you weren't trying to suggest that the 2 situations were somehow comparable then there wasn't any logic to your post.mjrpes wrote:I compared the two using the word 'wrong', not 'identical situations'.Foo wrote:Aside from noone dying, and there being consent, and in fact the only similarities being physical violence and the homeless, and nothing else, you're totally right they're identical situations.

They are comparable in that they are both wrong. Wrong in different ways, but wrong nonetheless...Foo wrote:If you weren't trying to suggest that the 2 situations were somehow comparable then there wasn't any logic to your post.mjrpes wrote:I compared the two using the word 'wrong', not 'identical situations'.Foo wrote:Aside from noone dying, and there being consent, and in fact the only similarities being physical violence and the homeless, and nothing else, you're totally right they're identical situations.
The bumfights were a disgusting attempt to capitalize on the desperate situation many homeless men find themselves in.
