he was someones son. he should deserve the same kind of vengeance you speak of?
Exactly.

Also, imagine if your child was raped/murdered/abused. The police finally track down the guy they're looking for, after lengthy court battles and such, you're able to prosecute and kill him.

Then imagine a few months later, you find out you killed some guy who had been commuting through town to go home for the weekend or something - and the guy who abused your kid was still out running around. So you killed an innocent boy for no other reason than you felt he deserved it because you were pissed.

How do you think you'd feel after that?

Sucks for him..

While its cold, his lawyers should ahve done their job..

DNA testing needs done before all this anyways.. there shouldnt be a single doubt that the person COULD be innocent before they axe him, but still, murderer, child rapsist, ect need to be dropped
You just basicly proved yourself wrong soap. You can't have double standards like that either take a stand or don't but don't try to act all higher than thou and then say the opposite.

If there shouldn't be a single doubt that the person could be innocent then they can't kill anyone. Regardless of what you think reality is a funny thing. To each person watching an event unfold before them there is no way for that individual to EVER know what REALLY happened unless that person was there and saw it for themselves and even THEN it could still be questionable! There is never a 100% way to be absolutely certain an individual commited that crime unless they themselves voluntarily say they did it. Even that CAN be coerced from people but it's just the type of civilization we live in I guess.

The point is that there is no way to ever be 100% safe and killing an innocent man over the death of say a child who was raped doesn't make things right it only makes a heinous crime even more evil in it's afterwake. So not only was it bad enough to begin with but people like you spread it's effects to the maximum because of your own greedy views.

You should stop and take a long look around you and your ideals.

the advancements in DNA profiling and testing since his execution are well beyond what was available at that time.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of defendents' lawyers are just employees of the state, appointed by the state.

I think Soap has a unique and valuable perspective on this whole situation. The 940 hours he's placed into playing World of Warcraft have provided him a vast pool of knowledge that we are not privy to. Human/Troll relations parallell this case down to a T.
Soap, I applaud your level of knowledge.

The only way I could ever support a death penalty is if it was completely voluntary.

People like you is the reason this world turns to shit. Take the middle east. Everything there goes along the eye for an eye mantra and just look at the troubles between Israel and the Palestinians. That sort of shit is cause by attitude such as yours.

So both of you are saying, that you have a child thats raped and murdered, the killer should live in a cell and cost tax payers money, while he gets the rest of his life paid for?

I dont think so, sorry..

Problem is, to many of you fucking people are so soft that youd rather let a killer free than end his horrid life for him..
I'm with you Soap

If it can be proven without any shadow of a doubt that someone
had raped a child or murdered a child then they should die.

Simple as that

Also all pedo's should die too.
Where were you when the West was defeated?

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

This should probably be a precedent for the Supreme Court.

Waste'em and let God sort'em out.

Seriously.

The few innocents that go down are going to be a small percentage. Most of the objectors who use that arguement that are innocents being killed are just using it because it apeales to more people.

I would bet that no more than 10% of the people executed in the last ten years are actually innocent of the crime they were executed for. I can live with that stat because most of those guys are guilty of a lomg list of crimes anyway. Still though those 10% I would bet are guilty of a shit load of other crimes so I'm not really worried about that.

Flame on :)

err whatever
