Dosen't work for me, but be a way to unlock the toolbar. That's where I usually put my addy bar also.

maybe another way to do it, but:

rmb on any button except back/fwd (e.g. refresh) and hit 'customise'
drag all of the buttons to the menu bar
close customisation dialog
view > toolbars > uncheck 'navigation'

Yeah that was it. Didn't think about moving them when in customize mode.
