The Last Brick

Post by rbottoms »

I am closing in on having all the pieces I need for my project. What I need now is a redistributable level. I can texture it and make the shaders myself, so a set of dummy textures should be sent with it, or you can use default textures/shaders from Id's pak0 as long as they are all identified so I can replace them.

Something big and gothic like dOnkey's "The Living End" would be great. Price is negotiable of course.

After that it'll be about 6 months of coding & design work to finish something I've had in mind for quite a few years. The Q3 engine has finally made it possible. It's been about a month of digging and I appreciate all the help I've been given on the various boards. It was recommended to try here for my level.

As Dirty Harry said, "A man's got to know his limitations" and I definitely don't have the patience to build this thing up brick by brick in Radiant, thus offer to buy one.

BTW, this is my first post here so if this should go elsewhere just let me know.

Thanks

Thanks, Cheapalert is the one who sent me here. I've see the project he is working on. It's well needed, but for my purposes it's not far enough along.

I need a finished, cool level that I can get the rights to use in a commercial game.

thx

If you want large and gothic, you may strike gold here: http://www.quake3world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15587

I'm assuming you're already clued in to all the legal issues surrounding your... venture...?

Yes. That's why I want only a level that the author has rights to and can sell to me. Constructing the architecture of level is something I just don't have the patience for.

I can't believe Radient is the best tool that ever came out for doing this work. 3D Studio Max long ago showed how to model in 3D space better than that way back in the DOS days.

I am guessing licensing is why there no Open Source exporters for bsp/aas for 3DS.

Anyway, I'd be only less impatient creating the thing in MAX. Got a cool gothic level your want a few bucks for? Let's talk. I'll be replacing all the textures & shaders with my own in the end because I want no issues about IP. But it be useful during development to uses existing.

So what I need is:

map
bsp
aas
textures
any notes
