If my usenet program tells me "no such group exists&quo
when I know for a fact that it does and that newzbin is reporting files are on it, does that mean my newgroup provider (ntl) has banned the group?

i use http://www.newshosting.com/ and get the unlimited subscriptions. Best deal around

Back to your original question. News servers propogate to other news servers. Some server will not accept some newsgroups, while others take some time to get the new news groups in.
