Guitar buffs - Canon in D

Post by vesp »

This is quite sweet to listen to anyway, but the question is
does anyone have a link to tab for THIS ?

Either this guy has some nice backing tracks or it's a recorded version by someone else? (thinks: maybe that female guitarist Kat something-or-other).
Either way, I'm looking for tab pertaining to this style of playing for canon in D (not the millions of classical guitar parts that I find so many of).

If not then I guess I'm gonna have to just tab it out myself (yeah I find it quite boring doing this, hence asking whether any of fellows know of a version).

Wow. In the beginning I was thinking "meh, that sounds alright, no big deal." But after finishing it, that was pretty impressive.

Is that the same guy who played the Mario theme song on guitar?

To answer you question - you'll probably have to make the tab yourself for that kind of playing. It's more personal rendition of the song than anything else.

edit: Although you can try searching ultimate-guitar: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/

heh ok.. a little bit of searching uncovers this website: http://jerryc.co.uk/

and ultimate-guitar.com has the Canon tabbed under "Jerryc tabs", for anyone that is interested.

heh yeah, ultimate guitar is usually my first stop, but I'm used to searching for artists so was a bit slow in just searching for "Canon".

Just watched some of the other vids on that site - some very impressive stuff technically as well as nice tunes (the "Whose Autumn" track is also tabbed on UG).

I'm getting stuck into this canon

Nice, actually got the timings. That's the one thing I hate about online/community tabs. Half the time you can't play them without listening to the song to work out the note timings & durations.

That's just bad-ass! That guy really tore it up. I've heard the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's version of the Canon in D and it sounds similar, but this guy was impressive.

yer, dude's got chops. i wonder why he didn't do that over though, his G string was flat and his B was getting flatter towards the end of the composition. well played though.
