Well it is kinda old. I've had it since the ATI 8500LE and the 2200+ CPU was a new hot item.
It's been collecting dust because the system I use is a 64bit 3200+ with a 6800GT, and my spare computer is a 2600+ with a FX5600. Both are used all the time. The third computer is just sitting there with no monitor, keyboard, or mouse.

ebay it and use the money to get a PCI-e systemTransient wrote:I'd just hate to have a 6800 and nowhere to put it. I just bought it a few months ago!Dave wrote:I don't know for sure, but I don't think you'll gain anything with an nvidia card with photoshop. You should be ok with the built-in video and will be able to upgrade to PCIe later

I just got done chatting with a sales rep from Dell regarding their computers. None of their computers have AGP slots anymore; they're phased over to PCIe motherboards, which isn't surprising. According to the rep I talked to, I can't talk to someone and change options around when customizing a system. I have what's shown on the screen; nothing more, nothing less. I can't omit items either.
She did say, however, that talking to a sales rep on the phone MIGHT yield a different response. So I'm off to go make a phone call and see if I can't save a few bucks.
BTW, how does a 128MB PCIe x16 ATI Radeon X300 stack up next to a 128MB AGP 8x GeForce 6800? And how much do you think I could get for a 3-month-old 6800 at a local mom-and-pop store? Heh...
edit: No dice... Looks like I'll be spending quite a bit more than I wanted.
