He entertains me for whatever reason some of the time...the rest I simply ignore. As long as he doesn't derail other people's threads with a constant stream of spam...(which I frankly don't know about since following his posting habits isn't high on my "To-Do" list)....I say LET HIM LIVE.

The point is that there are obviously a fair number of people who are sick of wading through his ramblings. This isn't the first thread about this and you know it.

Okay then, I'll put the previous arguments I mounted in this thread to bed, since they were about a smaller part of the issue, and deal with this:

I agree that there are a number of people on this board who dislike geoff's postings.

First point: This forum isn't a democracy, that's been said hundreds of times over the past few years. It never has been. The popular vote on this forum has never been used to decide a member's fate. So on that basis, so fucking what if some of us don't like what Geoff posts.

Second point: I read a fair amount of the stuff that Geoff posts. Some of the links he puts up are good, some are complete shit, but I wouldn't go and get any of the links myself if he wasn't posting them. On that basis, as much as I loathe to say it, Geoff's posts are actually useful to me.

Third point: I think it's really, really pathetic that those complaining about goof don't have the self-control to simply not click on his topics. Seriously, give me one good reason why you can't just pass over the topics he creates? That seems to be the main bone of contention here, rather than his posts in other people's threads.

I didn't say it was a democracy. Drum was just making his opinion known, an opinion which others have posted about before.

To be clear, Drum isn't just saying 'I think he should be banned' he's also trying to use what he perceives as his 'weight' around here to effect that opinion. On top of that, at one point he was trying to convince us that there was some hidden number of posters who agreed with him but mysteriously weren't posting, and was also stating the belief that since a number of people want a member banned, that should be a reason to make it happen.

So it wasn't just that one opinion, it was a whole bunch, some of which were fucking stupid and based on beliefs which are simply incorrect.

At this point the guy is basically in my face and his girl screams "daddy make the stupid boy leave" and I go "yeah, make me leave daddy" and he was like "come on kids, lets get out of here" and as they were walking away the guy tells me to learn some manners.

I see his daughter is holding a harry potter book in her hand I go "tell your daughter that dumbledore dies on page 606" and immediately this like 13 year old girl bursts into tears and soon after her older looking brother did too the dad was speechless and walked away."

Let me get one thing straight here geoff for sake of confusion. I have never disliked you and I do find you quite funny at times. But I HAVE wanted to see your daily thread count reduced and a bit more variation on topics. People say don't click the topics. It's not quite the point, it just bugs me to even see that there's another thread by you so soon after the last. It bugs me more because it's you that doesn't see how sad it is.

geoff has been posting here since as long as I can remember. I don't even know who you are... but the geoff gets as much shit (mr. mom, etc) as he gives and never complains. Heavy handed moderation, silly rules no one wants to enforce and caring in general (taking things personally) are what create interdrama.

Having posted here for six years, I can tell you that this is the only time in the history of q3w that everyone gets along to the point where I don't need to ban people to maintain order.

Few if any of you people wanted us to ban sysop when he posted pictures of dead babies and personally attacked and threatened goagrrl to excess. In fact, many of you supported him because you thought he was intercool. None of the shit geoff pulls remotely resembles the things sysop ever did to people.

The crowd is fickle...
