Decent AGP Video Card for under $350.00

Post by Giraffe }{unter »

Looking for a good AGP 256MB Video Card to compliment my new Athlon 4 4000+ and 2 gig of ram..

Preferably Nvidia 6800GT series, I really don't want the half breed 6200 or 6600 cards.

Anyone have good experiances wuth any specific brands?

LOL.

GH: I am looking for a specific flavor of coffee that resembles a Sumatra blend - does anybody have any specific experience, or names of specific brands that might help me find the one I like?

Try the 6800GS, very nice card for what you're looking for.

I bought Serious Sam 2 the same day Q4 came out - and I still haven't been able to get the sound to work correctly on it.

Croteam has commented on the bug, but made no attempt to fix it or even announced that they're looking at it. I eventually stopped reading their forums.

I've been thinking about shitting in the box and mailing it back to them, but I'd probably get arrested and sent to Gitmo. :(

Sadly I figured I would keep my existing AGP card and upgrade later, didn't realize everyone was gonna give me some cash to upgrade my Video card for my birthday.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Nice.

I was really only making fun of the way Gene replied - but I'd be happy to take you up on that. Let me know what you need and I'll PM you.

Go with the BFG 6800GT OC.

I have it, others here have it, and they love it.

I have the same card. I talk to people on CS:S all the time and got on the subject of frame rates a few times. People always shit when I say I get 60 to 120 fps in CS:S.

FEAR was smooth as silk on my machine for the most part. Only a couple of minor slow downs, but over all it was smooth.

Thanks for the info yesterday tnf, I went on a hunt and finally found one :)

All the online stores BFG recommends are sold out or do not carry the card anymore. Local Best Buys are sold out. The card is no longer manufactured and will not be restocked.

I headed over to a computer show at the expo center this morning and one vendor had one BFG 6800GT OC ACP 256mb sitting there. Sadly the bastard knew he was the only one in the show with the card :/ so price haggling was not easy. I took the card off his hands for $300.00

Now to wait 10 more days till my birthday…
