Twilight Zone (Classic 1960's version)

Post by mjrpes »

Anyone a fan of this show?

Ever since I got Tivo two weeks ago, I've been consuming the show as fast as Tivo can record them. One of the best shows ever, IMHO, and each episode pretty much gives you something to munch on, ranging from comedy to drama.
yea i've too been kind of thinking about maybe a new sig but sort of haven't come to quite a decision yet

I used to love that show. I remember one vaguely, where it was about a painting showing a house and a man standing at a distance from it. The person in the house looked at the picture and it seemed to him that the man in the painting had moved. Every time he looked at the painting again the man actually had moved a little closer to the house. Eventually the man in the painting is right at the entrance, the doorbell then rings, and.. I can't remember what happens after that. It was creepy though.

Rod Serling was one of a kind. You should catch some of the interviews he did...old skool maverick with brains.

The Twilight Zone is of course stone cold tasty wheat. I could watch those old eps. all fuckin day long.

I am just amazed at how some of these episodes can twist your mind.

Like, the episode I saw today called "death ship". Three astonauts land on an alien planet, and discover an identical crashed ship with their (dead) bodies inside. They're dead, but apparently alive, and they have to find out what the fuck is going on. You have the logical captain ("there must be a reason why!") versus his think-outside-the-box lieutenants ("we are the ones who are really dead"). The ending provided a nice little mindfuck.

If you look up TV.com, this episode isn't even in the top fifty rating-wise, yet it still was still so good...

:paranoid: Yes a great show, one of the classics.

They had some really spooky stories....

Just did a quick google, some great sites out there. Try this

I remember this one
123) Nightmare at 20,000 Feet First Aired: 10/11/63

Been playing on the Sci-Fi station for the past two days. They are having a Twilight Zone marathon. I grew up watching it, even though the show was really old when I was a kid.

The one that sticks out in my mind is the one that had the doll that told the Dad (played by Telly Savalas) that it was going to kill him.

TZ was a great show. There certainly won't be anything like it again on our network television stations.

That was actually the first part of the "Night Gallery" movie pilot.
It creeped me out too when I saw it. It had Roddy McDowell as the guy watching the painting.

The second part of the movie was Speilbergs first directing job I think.
