Could they simply have rebadged their car? I also want to add that even the Golf GTI sold in the States is a detuned version (smaller engine) rated at only 180 bhp. Why is it that when it comes to cars that we don't get the good stuff over here? :icon13:

Anyway, the new R32 is still slower than the two Imprezas they tested on Top Gear, but it's as fast as the Audi S4 (1st pic below). It's 1.5 seconds quicker than the BMW 130i they compared it against in this episode and 1.4 seonds quicker than the likes of the Nissan 350Z or the Mazda RX-8 (2nd pic below). It's also nearly 3 seconds quicker than the old R32 (3rd pic below) :icon32:

However, I have to say that they probably had a different Stig for this episode, because he (I'm convinced that it's a man) seemed to drive far more aggresively than usual. In fact, the way he drove reminds me of how Nigel Mansell drove that Suzuki econobox in the previous episode...

the same thing with electronics. for instance - check out the cell phone industry - we're a good 1 1/2 to 2 years behind Asian countries.
