I currently have an Chaintech GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb and was wondering if my ATI 9600 would be better?

umm, wtf? 9600 is a generation ahead of 4200.

4200=sm 1.1 9600=sm 2.0

GH, how much cash can to blow on a card?

Grab a 6600gt then.. about 200 and less depending on site, and its prolly good enough for what you need + some.. :)

Do you really need such a good card in a media pc?


Oh, and I recommend an ATI x800 GTO, either Connect3D or Sapphire cards are overclockable. You can unlock an extra 4 pipes and overclock them by at least 100mhz on the memory and processor, making it into near x850 PE speeds for much less money :).

Their around $150, btw.
