ID3 tag remover

Post by BlueGene »

Does anyone know any software that can remove ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags, something that does a bunch of files in 1 go. Thank you, appreciate any suggestions.

Why would you not want id3 tags? They don't hurt anything by being there.

Why not use Tag & Rename and fill them all in properly?

Mp3s have an ID3 tag embeded in them for further information, however I noticed I have music made by local bands and they have very inaccurate info. I need a way to strip all this info. The acctual file name has the correct song/title but not the ID3 tag. Does that make sense?

I don't really care much for that info, but I have songs displaying incorrectly. There is a little over 200 songs, and going over each one is going to be a pain. :(

Correction: 384 mp3s with incorrect ID3 tags.

You can pull the title, artist and whatever other info is in the file name out and put it in the ID3tags with Tag and Rename.

Once you learn how to do it, it shouldn't take more than a few minuets to do it even with that many. This is assuming that the info in the filename is all correct. :icon14:

Like 10 second per album, no shit .

Seriously, give Tag and Rename a try, it's awesome. :o!

It may seem a bit complicated at first but it’s really quite simple once you’ve got the program figured out.

What you want to do is Get tags from file name.

If all the files in a given folder are named the same way, this takes literally just seconds.

ie:

Track - Artist - Song.mp3

You crate a filename mask that mirrors the format of the filenames exactly, spaces where there are spaces dashes where there are dashes etc. Select all files and click go and it's finished.

I know you've already got your files taken care of but here's a dirt-simple tag remover:

http://www.marre.org/id3remover/
Drag files on it, click Remove. Done.
